Narrative:
On the ILS runway 12R to st louis, the captain called for 'gear down, flap 20 degrees, before landing checklist.' immediately noticing that the gear did not come down, we made the decision to discontinue the approach and work our problem. After going through the appropriate checklist, we called maintenance for further assistance. The decision was made to go ahead and lower the gear manually. Again after completing the appropriate checklist the manual gear extension was successful, with 3 green down and locked, also a visual of the nose gear. Notification was given both to the controllers and the emergency equipment. After an uneventful landing and taxi, the aircraft was taken to maintenance. I felt that all action during this event were proper and handled with efficiency.
