Narrative:
While departing psp for phx, the captain taxied the aircraft onto the runway at an intersection where the displaced threshold ends. He said he thought it was legal according to our airport analysis data. He asked if I concurred and I said I was not sure. We continued the takeoff and, when at cruise, looked at the books. Upon examination, we discovered that the takeoff data was for full length, 8500 ft. The displaced threshold was 1500 ft, so we took off with only 7000 ft of runway. This situation has encouraged me to become familiar with all airport information prior to flying into an unfamiliar airport and looking very closely at all relevant information on the airport analysis data. I know that in the future I will be a more informed crew member.

Title: AN ACR LTT TOOK OFF AT A RWY INTXN WHEN THEY NEEDED THE FULL LENGTH.
Narrative: WHILE DEPARTING PSP FOR PHX, THE CAPT TAXIED THE ACFT ONTO THE RWY AT AN INTXN WHERE THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD ENDS. HE SAID HE THOUGHT IT WAS LEGAL ACCORDING TO OUR ARPT ANALYSIS DATA. HE ASKED IF I CONCURRED AND I SAID I WAS NOT SURE. WE CONTINUED THE TKOF AND, WHEN AT CRUISE, LOOKED AT THE BOOKS. UPON EXAMINATION, WE DISCOVERED THAT THE TKOF DATA WAS FOR FULL LENGTH, 8500 FT. THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD WAS 1500 FT, SO WE TOOK OFF WITH ONLY 7000 FT OF RWY. THIS SIT HAS ENCOURAGED ME TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH ALL ARPT INFO PRIOR TO FLYING INTO AN UNFAMILIAR ARPT AND LOOKING VERY CLOSELY AT ALL RELEVANT INFO ON THE ARPT ANALYSIS DATA. I KNOW THAT IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE A MORE INFORMED CREW MEMBER.
