Narrative:

We were cleared for takeoff on runway 5L to maintain runway heading, climb to 3000 ft. Tower handed us off to departure quickly. Departure told us to turn left to 180 degrees and climb to 6000 ft. We acknowledged and commenced our turning climb. After a little more than 90 degrees of turn departure told us to make a hard turn to the right to 180 degrees and stop climb at 5000 ft. It seemed as though he told us wrongly to turn left and even if he said right, the first officer read back 'to the left' and was not corrected. This was a scheduled 8 leg day with this leg being #4. The WX caused delays and holding.
