Narrative:

At the above time, date and location, I may have inadvertently flew into a restr area designated in fdc NOTAM #6-3745. It stated that a 10 NM radius around the dro VOR 092 degree radial at the 37 DME fix was restr. I had poor reception off of the VOR and felt that I was out of this area and descended to 8800 ft MSL to take pictures of the fire. A govt plane came up on my 4 O'clock position and followed me. I turned left to avoid him and left the area. I felt that I was not in violation because my calculations showed I was outside the 10 mi radius. At no time was there any danger and I believe that I should file this report.

Title: PLT OF AN SEL SMA ENTERED A TEMPORARY RESTR AIRSPACE, ESTABLISHED FOR A FOREST FIRE CTL.

Narrative: AT THE ABOVE TIME, DATE AND LOCATION, I MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY FLEW INTO A RESTR AREA DESIGNATED IN FDC NOTAM #6-3745. IT STATED THAT A 10 NM RADIUS AROUND THE DRO VOR 092 DEG RADIAL AT THE 37 DME FIX WAS RESTR. I HAD POOR RECEPTION OFF OF THE VOR AND FELT THAT I WAS OUT OF THIS AREA AND DSNDED TO 8800 FT MSL TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE FIRE. A GOVT PLANE CAME UP ON MY 4 O'CLOCK POS AND FOLLOWED ME. I TURNED L TO AVOID HIM AND LEFT THE AREA. I FELT THAT I WAS NOT IN VIOLATION BECAUSE MY CALCULATIONS SHOWED I WAS OUTSIDE THE 10 MI RADIUS. AT NO TIME WAS THERE ANY DANGER AND I BELIEVE THAT I SHOULD FILE THIS RPT.
