Narrative:
Location: 3 DME northeast ewr. On takeoff from ewr I most likely set off the noise monitors. 4 NM northeast of ewr departing runway 4, partially accidentally, partially intentional. The takeoff roll was very long, rotate called with 2000 ft remaining and aircraft seemed nose heavy. When above V2 and 20 KTS (around 500 ft) I started turn to right, but immediately got a speed low so I rolled wings level. I went back to wings level and at 800 ft called flaps up climb power. Waiting now for 0/return speed to go over 15 degree angle of bank we were at 1500 ft for 2500 ft level off. I hit speed select and observed alpha speed in the FMA, I again rolled wings level to figure what as up since 250 KTS was set in speed select window and 246 KTS was M/M. These distractions kept me from rolling into the turn. Just after 4 DME I started turn to 290 degrees, but I noticed I was only at about a 55 degree heading. Departure said nothing, but even with the real strong wind we had out of the northwest I most likely tripped the noise sensors. I didn't attach the immediacy to the noise abatement off runway 4 that there was off runway 22 since the company pages did not give the emphasis of turn immediately, rather it said as soon as practical, but looking at the page later on I saw the noise monitor on the northeast departure and feel I may have tripped it. Sorry, next time I'll give more forethought to leaving flaps out above 800 ft if need be.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: RPTR STATES THAT AFTER TKOF THE NOSE SEEMED HVY AND THEN, IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH THE SID, STARTED A TURN, BUT A SPD LOW WARNING WAS SHOWN ON THE FMA, SO RPTR ROLLED WINGS LEVEL. THEN, AT 800 FT HE CALLED FOR FLAPS UP AND SELECTED SPD SELECT, BUT AGAIN ALPHA SPD ANNUNCIATED IN THE FMA, SO AGAIN WINGS WERE ROLLED LEVEL. DISTRACTIONS RESULTED IN ACFT NOT FOLLOWING THE SID AND THEY PROBABLY SET OFF THE NOISE SENSOR ON THE GND.
Narrative: LOCATION: 3 DME NE EWR. ON TKOF FROM EWR I MOST LIKELY SET OFF THE NOISE MONITORS. 4 NM NE OF EWR DEPARTING RWY 4, PARTIALLY ACCIDENTALLY, PARTIALLY INTENTIONAL. THE TKOF ROLL WAS VERY LONG, ROTATE CALLED WITH 2000 FT REMAINING AND ACFT SEEMED NOSE HVY. WHEN ABOVE V2 AND 20 KTS (AROUND 500 FT) I STARTED TURN TO R, BUT IMMEDIATELY GOT A SPD LOW SO I ROLLED WINGS LEVEL. I WENT BACK TO WINGS LEVEL AND AT 800 FT CALLED FLAPS UP CLB PWR. WAITING NOW FOR 0/RETURN SPD TO GO OVER 15 DEG ANGLE OF BANK WE WERE AT 1500 FT FOR 2500 FT LEVEL OFF. I HIT SPD SELECT AND OBSERVED ALPHA SPD IN THE FMA, I AGAIN ROLLED WINGS LEVEL TO FIGURE WHAT AS UP SINCE 250 KTS WAS SET IN SPD SELECT WINDOW AND 246 KTS WAS M/M. THESE DISTRACTIONS KEPT ME FROM ROLLING INTO THE TURN. JUST AFTER 4 DME I STARTED TURN TO 290 DEGS, BUT I NOTICED I WAS ONLY AT ABOUT A 55 DEG HDG. DEP SAID NOTHING, BUT EVEN WITH THE REAL STRONG WIND WE HAD OUT OF THE NW I MOST LIKELY TRIPPED THE NOISE SENSORS. I DIDN'T ATTACH THE IMMEDIACY TO THE NOISE ABATEMENT OFF RWY 4 THAT THERE WAS OFF RWY 22 SINCE THE COMPANY PAGES DID NOT GIVE THE EMPHASIS OF TURN IMMEDIATELY, RATHER IT SAID AS SOON AS PRACTICAL, BUT LOOKING AT THE PAGE LATER ON I SAW THE NOISE MONITOR ON THE NE DEP AND FEEL I MAY HAVE TRIPPED IT. SORRY, NEXT TIME I'LL GIVE MORE FORETHOUGHT TO LEAVING FLAPS OUT ABOVE 800 FT IF NEED BE.
