Narrative:

Aircraft, EMB120 had a cargo door seal problem that was written up early on jun/xx/96. I took the aircraft from iah to efd and flew it until XA45 local. When the trip was completed in jan, I was not aware of this discrepancy until a week later, when the pilot who took the aircraft the next morning. There was nothing on the back of the logbook (notice to pilots) of any written discrepancies. The aircraft was fixed that morning before leaving jan. The aircraft sat on the ramp at iah for more than 2 hours with this write-up before I took the aircraft. There should have been better communication between the pilots who wrote it up and operations/maintenance. Nobody told me that there was a problem, and it should have been grounded until maintenance fixed the problem. I also should have looked more closely to the write-ups and sign-offs.
