Narrative:
Mistake in outbound airway course setting. Crew checked chart, set CDI, and properly intercepted a course radial outbound. After ZDV queried us, we realized we had misread the chart. I will strive to be more vigilant in 'backing up' the pilots with cruise duties.

Title: A B727 FLC INTERCEPTED THE WRONG RADIAL OUTBOUND WHILE ENRTE. THE ARTCC RADAR CTLR INTERVENED.
Narrative: MISTAKE IN OUTBOUND AIRWAY COURSE SETTING. CREW CHKED CHART, SET CDI, AND PROPERLY INTERCEPTED A COURSE RADIAL OUTBOUND. AFTER ZDV QUERIED US, WE REALIZED WE HAD MISREAD THE CHART. I WILL STRIVE TO BE MORE VIGILANT IN 'BACKING UP' THE PLTS WITH CRUISE DUTIES.
