Narrative:
'Tail compartment temperature high' light illuminated just after takeoff. Company procedure was accomplished, light went out, and return to msy was initiated. Aircraft was flown for approximately 30-45 mins prior to landing to prevent overweight condition. Landing was accomplished without incident. Maintenance personnel discovered a duct leak in the unpressurized tail compartment area.

Title: ACFT EQUIP PROB. TAIL COMPARTMENT TEMP HIGH LIGHT. FLC RETURNED AND LANDED. HIGH TEMP CAUSED BY DUCT LEAK IN UNPRESSURIZED COMPARTMENT AREA.
Narrative: 'TAIL COMPARTMENT TEMP HIGH' LIGHT ILLUMINATED JUST AFTER TKOF. COMPANY PROC WAS ACCOMPLISHED, LIGHT WENT OUT, AND RETURN TO MSY WAS INITIATED. ACFT WAS FLOWN FOR APPROX 30-45 MINS PRIOR TO LNDG TO PREVENT OVERWT CONDITION. LNDG WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINT PERSONNEL DISCOVERED A DUCT LEAK IN THE UNPRESSURIZED TAIL COMPARTMENT AREA.
