Narrative:
ATC asked if I had started my turn yet. I was unaware of any prior transmission re a turn. Before I could respond, ATC called a jump plane telling them they had not been able to raise me. The jump plane said that was a problem since jumpers were already away. ATC immediately called to contact me. I responded. ATC said I needed to turn 90 degrees away from jumpers. I turned and at that time saw 2 free falling jumpers just ahead. Looking up I saw the jump plane about 1500 ft above on a west heading and two more jumpers coming down. I continued turn to about southwest. The other jumpers passed clear by maybe 200-300 yds. I notified ATC that was close and was cleared to turn north and continue. No further mention of the event occurred. I noticed much radio traffic re jumpers after that. I don't know the proper procedures for these events, but it seems ATC should have received an acknowledgment from me before clearing the jumpers. This was an unforgettable experience for me, also the jumpers I think.

Title: NMAC WITH SKYDIVERS. ATC WAS COORDING WITH JUMP ACFT, BUT THE SKYDIVERS WERE AWAY BEFORE ATC CONTACTED RPTR, WHO HAD TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION.
Narrative: ATC ASKED IF I HAD STARTED MY TURN YET. I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY PRIOR XMISSION RE A TURN. BEFORE I COULD RESPOND, ATC CALLED A JUMP PLANE TELLING THEM THEY HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO RAISE ME. THE JUMP PLANE SAID THAT WAS A PROB SINCE JUMPERS WERE ALREADY AWAY. ATC IMMEDIATELY CALLED TO CONTACT ME. I RESPONDED. ATC SAID I NEEDED TO TURN 90 DEGS AWAY FROM JUMPERS. I TURNED AND AT THAT TIME SAW 2 FREE FALLING JUMPERS JUST AHEAD. LOOKING UP I SAW THE JUMP PLANE ABOUT 1500 FT ABOVE ON A W HDG AND TWO MORE JUMPERS COMING DOWN. I CONTINUED TURN TO ABOUT SW. THE OTHER JUMPERS PASSED CLR BY MAYBE 200-300 YDS. I NOTIFIED ATC THAT WAS CLOSE AND WAS CLRED TO TURN N AND CONTINUE. NO FURTHER MENTION OF THE EVENT OCCURRED. I NOTICED MUCH RADIO TFC RE JUMPERS AFTER THAT. I DON'T KNOW THE PROPER PROCS FOR THESE EVENTS, BUT IT SEEMS ATC SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT FROM ME BEFORE CLRING THE JUMPERS. THIS WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE FOR ME, ALSO THE JUMPERS I THINK.
