Location: s-se of ord. Departing ord in thunderstorm conditions. Departure cleared us to FL190. While deviating due to thunderstorm departure amended altitude to 13000 ft. We were at 12800 ft, 3000 FPM climb aircraft stopped at 13500 ft while on its way back to 13000 ft.
