Narrative:
After departure from mdw our flight engineer noticed the oil pressure on engine #1 reading 30 psi, well below the red radial. We followed the company's checklist, shut the engine down, a phone patch with commercial radio and the company determined us to land at ind. I decided to make an overweight landing and land in ind. We did declare an emergency in lieu of dumping fuel so the equipment would be standing by. After landing with no problems. We taxied off the runway. I asked if everybody was happy with the way the emergency was handled. Our engineer trying to break the tension in the cockpit said 'no you messed up' but later followed up with just kidding. This comment did go out on the voice recorder. All the procedures we did were by the book.
