Narrative:

Came into salt lake city, understood cleared to land runway 34R. Lined up for runway and tower called immediate left turn and that I was cleared for runway 34L (which is the carrier normal runway, GA normally lands runway 35). After landing (I had never in 3 yrs landed runway 34L), I was told to taxi toward runway 34R (center runway) and told to hold short of taxiway H. My passenger (an x-mil helicopter pilot) and I both looked for taxiway H. As we taxied east neither of us saw an 'H' sign but did find H8. We stopped there (this was high speed exit for runway 34R). We were told to stop, do 180 degree and taxi down taxiway H (still no marking found) and taxied to FBO. There was no danger or near miss to any aircraft. When the air carrier 'rush' hits, the controllers are talking so fast and moving so many airplanes you can't break in to ask questions or for help. The controllers are nice but very busy. In future, if not cleared to my usual runway (35/17), I will ask for clarification and progressive taxi instructions.

Title: A PVT SMT GOT LOST WHILE TAXIING AT SLC. ERROR ADMITTED. THE RPTR HAD ALSO STARTED AN APCH TO THE WRONG RWY.

Narrative: CAME INTO SALT LAKE CITY, UNDERSTOOD CLRED TO LAND RWY 34R. LINED UP FOR RWY AND TWR CALLED IMMEDIATE L TURN AND THAT I WAS CLRED FOR RWY 34L (WHICH IS THE CARRIER NORMAL RWY, GA NORMALLY LANDS RWY 35). AFTER LNDG (I HAD NEVER IN 3 YRS LANDED RWY 34L), I WAS TOLD TO TAXI TOWARD RWY 34R (CTR RWY) AND TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY H. MY PAX (AN X-MIL HELI PLT) AND I BOTH LOOKED FOR TXWY H. AS WE TAXIED E NEITHER OF US SAW AN 'H' SIGN BUT DID FIND H8. WE STOPPED THERE (THIS WAS HIGH SPD EXIT FOR RWY 34R). WE WERE TOLD TO STOP, DO 180 DEG AND TAXI DOWN TXWY H (STILL NO MARKING FOUND) AND TAXIED TO FBO. THERE WAS NO DANGER OR NEAR MISS TO ANY ACFT. WHEN THE ACR 'RUSH' HITS, THE CTLRS ARE TALKING SO FAST AND MOVING SO MANY AIRPLANES YOU CAN'T BREAK IN TO ASK QUESTIONS OR FOR HELP. THE CTLRS ARE NICE BUT VERY BUSY. IN FUTURE, IF NOT CLRED TO MY USUAL RWY (35/17), I WILL ASK FOR CLARIFICATION AND PROGRESSIVE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS.
