Narrative:
While taxiing into the ramp at tys, under marshaller control at all times, and turning and taxiing on centerline at all times, at approximately 7 ft from the 'stop' position for 'normal' taxi-in and/or parking, the right wing slat #8 hit a container which was found inside the white obstacle clearing lines. Prior to commencing the initial turn into the above mentioned spot, the area appeared to be clear. The incident occurred during moderate rain and in accordance with our air carrier flight operations manual revision 25 et seq, FARS, and the aircraft manuals, as appropriate.

Title: AN ACR LGT FLC STRUCK A CARGO BIN WITH THE #8 LEADING EDGE SLAT WHILE BEING MARSHALLED INTO A PARKING SPOT AT NIGHT IN THE RAIN. THE RAMP PERSONNEL ADMITTED TO IMPROPERLY LEAVING THE BIN IN THE TAXI AREA.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING INTO THE RAMP AT TYS, UNDER MARSHALLER CTL AT ALL TIMES, AND TURNING AND TAXIING ON CTRLINE AT ALL TIMES, AT APPROX 7 FT FROM THE 'STOP' POS FOR 'NORMAL' TAXI-IN AND/OR PARKING, THE R WING SLAT #8 HIT A CONTAINER WHICH WAS FOUND INSIDE THE WHITE OBSTACLE CLRING LINES. PRIOR TO COMMENCING THE INITIAL TURN INTO THE ABOVE MENTIONED SPOT, THE AREA APPEARED TO BE CLR. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED DURING MODERATE RAIN AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUR ACR FLT OPS MANUAL REVISION 25 ET SEQ, FARS, AND THE ACFT MANUALS, AS APPROPRIATE.
