Narrative:
On nov xx, 1989, air carrier a airlines flight large transport X, was taxiing into terminal 2, gate 2 when the left elevator hit the rudder of air carrier B medium large transport Y. The large transport X elevator was not damaged except for a static wick that was broken off. The medium large transport Y rudder received a 6' slice. Ground services was marshalling in the large transport X and I followed the hand signals closely. We air carrier a pilots have complained about the clearance of air carrier B aircraft before and ground services added a second marshaller for each taxi in. Upon parking I am told that this exact same incident had occurred before on sept Y, 1989. Nothing had been done by air carrier a except to ask air carrier B to not park their 20' longer medium large transport Y's on the conflicting gate. They obviously disregarded the request. I wonder how many tails have cleared by inches with nobody noticing or caring enough to do anything about it. I take full responsibility for clearance of my wingtips, but I can't see my tail. That's what marshallers are for as well as yellow guide lines. Air carrier a airlines now is responding with changes that should eliminate anymore incidents.

Narrative: ON NOV XX, 1989, ACR A AIRLINES FLT LGT X, WAS TAXIING INTO TERMINAL 2, GATE 2 WHEN THE LEFT ELEVATOR HIT THE RUDDER OF ACR B MLG Y. THE LGT X ELEVATOR WAS NOT DAMAGED EXCEPT FOR A STATIC WICK THAT WAS BROKEN OFF. THE MLG Y RUDDER RECEIVED A 6' SLICE. WE ACR A PLTS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE CLRNC OF ACR B ACFT BEFORE AND GND SERVICES ADDED A SECOND MARSHALLER FOR EACH TAXI IN. UPON PARKING I AM TOLD THAT THIS EXACT SAME INCIDENT HAD OCCURRED BEFORE ON SEPT Y, 1989. NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE BY ACR A EXCEPT TO ASK ACR B TO NOT PARK THEIR 20' LONGER MLG Y'S ON THE CONFLICTING GATE. THEY OBVIOUSLY DISREGARDED THE REQUEST. I WONDER HOW MANY TAILS HAVE CLRED BY INCHES WITH NOBODY NOTICING OR CARING ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR CLRNC OF MY WINGTIPS, BUT I CAN'T SEE MY TAIL.
