Narrative:

I assisted installing the autobrake switch in aircraft xx and doing the bite check on the autobrake system. In the process of doing the bite checks and discussing the proper operation of the switch with other mechanics the cam locks holding the instrument panel were never installed, but the panel was latched with backup latch. The captain noticed the unlatched cam locks during the flight. And after landing in YYY requested a mechanic install the cam locks. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: mechanic contacted and made the following statement regarding the autobrake switch replacement. The maintenance manual was used for the switch replacement and operational check. He does recall last instruction in the maintenance manual to return the airplane to normal. Mechanic was not contacted by the FAA.
