Narrative:
Aircraft had just been released by maintenance after changing the outboard, right main gear door. During preflight by maintenance and confirmed by the first officer, all gear pins were removed. During takeoff, the gear was selected up. The left main and nose gear retracted normally. The right main did not move. We had both 2 red and 2 green lights on the right main. We retried the gear 2 times with the same results. We reselected the gear down and informed houston departure of our need to return to iah. After informing the company, flight attendants, and passenger of the situation, we returned to iah for a normal landing on runway 9.
