We were given a crossing restr 21 mi on vandalia 250 degree radial (we thought and read back 11000 ft) but the controller later said it was supposed to be at 15000 ft. We did not argue the point with him and maintained 15000 ft. (Petty intersection.)

Title: FLC OF AN ACR FAILED TO COMPLY WITH ATC INSTRUCTIONS FOR XING ALT DURING A STAR ARR. ATC INTERVENED AND THE FLC RETURNED TO THE REQUESTED ALT.
Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN A XING RESTR 21 MI ON VANDALIA 250 DEG RADIAL (WE THOUGHT AND READ BACK 11000 FT) BUT THE CTLR LATER SAID IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AT 15000 FT. WE DID NOT ARGUE THE POINT WITH HIM AND MAINTAINED 15000 FT. (PETTY INTXN.)
