Narrative:

ASOS WX reporting: metar XX51Z, 10 SM, scattered 7000 ft, scattered 8500 ft, 20 degrees/dewpoint 17 degrees, altimeter 30.15. BE02 on final ILS 24 reported airport in sight at 5.5 DME. PA34 10 mi southwest airport reported flight visibility 4-5 mi. B727 reported 'no definite layers just a thick layer of haze restricting visibility.' this appears to be an ongoing problem with the ASOS system frequently reporting WX conditions which are not indicative of current conditions. Numerous remarks from pilots stating that WX conditions are much less than those being reported.
