Narrative:
Flight XXX departing from cle to atl. Departure control told us to climb and maintain 5000 ft MSL. At 4000 ft MSL, I, nonflying first officer, called out 4000 ft for 5000 ft. We were working WX radar around local cumulonimbus. I looked up and saw 5200 ft. Then controller asked us to level at 5000 ft as the altitude alert (+300 ft) went off. Captain promptly descended to 5000 ft, without incident. Chain of events: this was our 5 day in a row on duty flying and fourth leg of this day. We were tired and the day was hot (90's) and made us even more tired. When we were approaching 5000 ft altitude clearance, I was not paying attention to altitude, but was focused on radar and our deviating around cumulonimbus. I should have made backup of altitude my priority until after proper leveloff. I feel that both myself and the captain are careful, diligent pilots. Fatigue led both of us to perform substandard.

Narrative: FLT XXX DEPARTING FROM CLE TO ATL. DEP CTL TOLD US TO CLB AND MAINTAIN 5000 FT MSL. AT 4000 FT MSL, I, NONFLYING FO, CALLED OUT 4000 FT FOR 5000 FT. WE WERE WORKING WX RADAR AROUND LCL CUMULONIMBUS. I LOOKED UP AND SAW 5200 FT. THEN CTLR ASKED US TO LEVEL AT 5000 FT AS THE ALT ALERT (+300 FT) WENT OFF. CAPT PROMPTLY DSNDED TO 5000 FT, WITHOUT INCIDENT. CHAIN OF EVENTS: THIS WAS OUR 5 DAY IN A ROW ON DUTY FLYING AND FOURTH LEG OF THIS DAY. WE WERE TIRED AND THE DAY WAS HOT (90'S) AND MADE US EVEN MORE TIRED. WHEN WE WERE APCHING 5000 FT ALT CLRNC, I WAS NOT PAYING ATTN TO ALT, BUT WAS FOCUSED ON RADAR AND OUR DEVIATING AROUND CUMULONIMBUS. I SHOULD HAVE MADE BACKUP OF ALT MY PRIORITY UNTIL AFTER PROPER LEVELOFF. I FEEL THAT BOTH MYSELF AND THE CAPT ARE CAREFUL, DILIGENT PLTS. FATIGUE LED BOTH OF US TO PERFORM SUBSTANDARD.
