Unable to maintain altitude of 6000 ft while passing north of das VOR while entering class B airspace, inbound to cxo. While exiting a small line of buildups, was unable to maintain 6000 ft due to turbulence and gained +300 ft. Advised approach control. Was given lower to 3000 ft to enter class B.
