Narrative:
Flew into tpa class B at approximately XX40 transponder wasn't picked up. Landed at tpa. Pushed the identify button and received the reply light. After clearing customs, got clearance and taxied for takeoff. Tower advised that they didn't receive my transponder. However, gave me clearance for takeoff. I would not have taken off had I thought that my transponder was inoperative. As I said before, I thought the problem was rectified.
