Narrative:
Called for clearance at fom for class B over msp, destination ahh. Received clearance. Took off. Switched to departure control. Cleared for class B, direct msp, overfly runway 22. After passing msp, cleared on course. Leaving class B. Controller said, 'contact ZMP.' I said, 'I'll just go VFR at this time,' and changed to 1200. Center called ahh when I landed (telephone) to see if I was on the ground. Center said, you requested flight following and didn't call us. I said, 'the controller said call center and I replied I would go VFR and noted that the controller was quite busy.' center replied, no problem, he must have missed it. I'll call and let him know. I thanked him for checking. He replied, this was no problem, he was just doing his job.
