Narrative:
I was instructing a student on how to do minimum controllable airspeed. I demonstrated the maneuver to my student, then I let him take the controls. He reduced power and added flaps, put on carburetor heat, in order to complete the maneuver. I told him to add power. He added power, no response from engine. I took control of aircraft, initiated emergency landing procedures, set up for an off-airport landing, picked a field and set up for an emergency landing in a field, tried to restart engine, to no avail. I contacted yip tower and informed them that we had an engine failure, gave him our position and idented with the transponder. As we got closer to the field we saw power lines and made the decision to go under the wire. Landed in a field in salem township. No injury to instructor nor student pilot. No damage to aircraft. No property damage. Landed without incident, informed yip tower that aircraft and occupants were all ok.
