Narrative:
During a cross country flight from haysfield airport to harford county airport, I experienced carburetor ice which shut down the engine and caused a forced landing. During the subsequent FAA examination at the site I realized that I had neglected to pick up my pilot and medical certificates from the car seat and put them into my pocket. This will not happen again!
