Narrative:
I experienced a loss of power after climb out at ZZZ. Followed checklist procedures. Called tower, advised rough engine and like to return land, no response. Flying back toward airport, runway 16 was closest landing spot. Called tower, declared emergency. Tower said 'take any runway.' 20 seconds later, carburetor ice melted and power was restored. I then canceled emergency and entered downwind and landed. After landing, had mechanic check plane prior to departure.
