Narrative:
Upon gear retraction, a loud bang occurred followed by vibration to the aircraft. Got louder with speed increase. Leveled off, stayed in pattern, declared emergency, returned for landing. Had emergency crew examine nosewheel and taxied to gate. Not really any procedures in book to cover. Decided if we got gear down and locked, we would keep them down and land. We did and we did. We experienced a nose gear door actuator failure.
