Narrative:
Had launched out of tgi VFR in a C172, a flying club aircraft, and proceeded to turn west towards virginia shore, destination nyg. Did not contact pxt approach before entering R6609 (restr airspace surface to FL200) for permission to enter airspace or to see if it was hot. Just after entering R6609 about 3-5 mi southwest tgi, I saw 2 FA18 hornets rapidly approaching from the south, closing in on my position at about 2000 ft AGL. My altitude was approximately 1500 ft. Did not get closer than 1 mi apart but realized the airspace was hot and I should have contacted pxt approach just after departing tgi and before entering R6609. Continued the flight without incident. Landed about 50 mins later at nyg where the aircraft is based but I never contacted passenger approach about the incident. I maintained sufficient visual separation from the FA18 aircraft at all times and would not classify this event as a near midair collision but did violate the restr airspace.

Title: C172 PLT PERFORMS AN UNAUTH PENETRATION OF RESTR AIRSPACE. POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH 2 F18 MIL ACFT ALERTS HIM TO THE PLTDEV.
Narrative: HAD LAUNCHED OUT OF TGI VFR IN A C172, A FLYING CLUB ACFT, AND PROCEEDED TO TURN W TOWARDS VIRGINIA SHORE, DEST NYG. DID NOT CONTACT PXT APCH BEFORE ENTERING R6609 (RESTR AIRSPACE SURFACE TO FL200) FOR PERMISSION TO ENTER AIRSPACE OR TO SEE IF IT WAS HOT. JUST AFTER ENTERING R6609 ABOUT 3-5 MI SW TGI, I SAW 2 FA18 HORNETS RAPIDLY APCHING FROM THE S, CLOSING IN ON MY POS AT ABOUT 2000 FT AGL. MY ALT WAS APPROX 1500 FT. DID NOT GET CLOSER THAN 1 MI APART BUT REALIZED THE AIRSPACE WAS HOT AND I SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED PXT APCH JUST AFTER DEPARTING TGI AND BEFORE ENTERING R6609. CONTINUED THE FLT WITHOUT INCIDENT. LANDED ABOUT 50 MINS LATER AT NYG WHERE THE ACFT IS BASED BUT I NEVER CONTACTED PAX APCH ABOUT THE INCIDENT. I MAINTAINED SUFFICIENT VISUAL SEPARATION FROM THE FA18 ACFT AT ALL TIMES AND WOULD NOT CLASSIFY THIS EVENT AS A NMAC BUT DID VIOLATE THE RESTR AIRSPACE.
