Narrative:
Aircraft landed runway 9 and taxied out to gate c-r via txwys N1-north-H. After aircraft exited runway with left turn onto N1 ground said taxiway north not stressed for air carrier aircraft. Flight crew instructed to continue to gate via route mentioned above. Taxi weight restr not noted on commercial chart 10-9 (airport diagram), not notamed on aircraft departure papers, not broadcast on ATIS, nor mentioned by tower/ground until aircraft clear of runway. Tower/ground/approach probably remiss in failure to advise flight crew of taxi prohibition because of runway operation change from runway 36L to runway 09 due to high winds with little time to prepare owing to arrival volume. Recommendation: add weight bearing note to approach 10-9 airport diagram page. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: flight crew had no notice, NOTAMS, or indication that the taxiway had any restrs for their type of aircraft. Nothing was mentioned on the ATIS information regarding this, however, the ATIS after they landed was changed to announce the restr taxiway to landing aircraft. Pilot wants a change made to the approach plates.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B737-300 TAXI ON TXWY THAT IS RESTR TO ACR ACFT AT TPA.
Narrative: ACFT LANDED RWY 9 AND TAXIED OUT TO GATE C-R VIA TXWYS N1-N-H. AFTER ACFT EXITED RWY WITH L TURN ONTO N1 GND SAID TXWY N NOT STRESSED FOR ACR ACFT. FLC INSTRUCTED TO CONTINUE TO GATE VIA RTE MENTIONED ABOVE. TAXI WT RESTR NOT NOTED ON COMMERCIAL CHART 10-9 (ARPT DIAGRAM), NOT NOTAMED ON ACFT DEP PAPERS, NOT BROADCAST ON ATIS, NOR MENTIONED BY TWR/GND UNTIL ACFT CLR OF RWY. TWR/GND/APCH PROBABLY REMISS IN FAILURE TO ADVISE FLC OF TAXI PROHIBITION BECAUSE OF RWY OP CHANGE FROM RWY 36L TO RWY 09 DUE TO HIGH WINDS WITH LITTLE TIME TO PREPARE OWING TO ARR VOLUME. RECOMMENDATION: ADD WT BEARING NOTE TO APCH 10-9 ARPT DIAGRAM PAGE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: FLC HAD NO NOTICE, NOTAMS, OR INDICATION THAT THE TXWY HAD ANY RESTRS FOR THEIR TYPE OF ACFT. NOTHING WAS MENTIONED ON THE ATIS INFO REGARDING THIS, HOWEVER, THE ATIS AFTER THEY LANDED WAS CHANGED TO ANNOUNCE THE RESTR TXWY TO LNDG ACFT. PLT WANTS A CHANGE MADE TO THE APCH PLATES.
