Location: sea gate xx. APU shut down at gate. Next, we smelled fuel fumes and were notified by ground personnel that we had a possible APU fire. Accomplished APU fire checklist. Probable fire was later confirmed. We never received APU fire warning.

Narrative: LOCATION: SEA GATE XX. APU SHUT DOWN AT GATE. NEXT, WE SMELLED FUEL FUMES AND WERE NOTIFIED BY GND PERSONNEL THAT WE HAD A POSSIBLE APU FIRE. ACCOMPLISHED APU FIRE CHKLIST. PROBABLE FIRE WAS LATER CONFIRMED. WE NEVER RECEIVED APU FIRE WARNING.
