Narrative:
As PF, while hand flying and looking for traffic, upon turning off runway and holding short of another runway, I was taxiing with the r-hand tiller and the captain was operating the radios. We didn't hear the usual hold short or cross runway instructions. I then looked at the radio in use and noticed that we were on approach control, however, in the other window we had tower frequency. While holding short between runways we then switched to tower who instructed us to cross runway and contact ground. No comment by tower controller, however, his tone of voice seemed to confirm my suspicions about not having been handed over to tower prior to landing. I cannot be sure as I think we may have landed without receiving and acknowledging a landing clearance from tower controller. No indication from any ATC controller of there being a problem. Days later I discussed this with the captain and informed him that I was going to file this report and that it might be a good idea for both of us to do so.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AIRBUS A300-B4 ACFT UNAUTH LNDG. PIC, PNF, FAILED TO SWITCH TO TWR FREQ ON FINAL OR DURING INITIAL TAX. FREQ CHANGE MISSED.
Narrative: AS PF, WHILE HAND FLYING AND LOOKING FOR TFC, UPON TURNING OFF RWY AND HOLDING SHORT OF ANOTHER RWY, I WAS TAXIING WITH THE R-HAND TILLER AND THE CAPT WAS OPERATING THE RADIOS. WE DIDN'T HEAR THE USUAL HOLD SHORT OR CROSS RWY INSTRUCTIONS. I THEN LOOKED AT THE RADIO IN USE AND NOTICED THAT WE WERE ON APCH CTL, HOWEVER, IN THE OTHER WINDOW WE HAD TWR FREQ. WHILE HOLDING SHORT BTWN RWYS WE THEN SWITCHED TO TWR WHO INSTRUCTED US TO CROSS RWY AND CONTACT GND. NO COMMENT BY TWR CTLR, HOWEVER, HIS TONE OF VOICE SEEMED TO CONFIRM MY SUSPICIONS ABOUT NOT HAVING BEEN HANDED OVER TO TWR PRIOR TO LNDG. I CANNOT BE SURE AS I THINK WE MAY HAVE LANDED WITHOUT RECEIVING AND ACKNOWLEDGING A LNDG CLRNC FROM TWR CTLR. NO INDICATION FROM ANY ATC CTLR OF THERE BEING A PROB. DAYS LATER I DISCUSSED THIS WITH THE CAPT AND INFORMED HIM THAT I WAS GOING TO FILE THIS RPT AND THAT IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA FOR BOTH OF US TO DO SO.
