Narrative:
Flight from clt to sat. Original clearance was clt haray spa vuz-sat. This routing appeared on company flight plan and appeared on pre departure clearance message. After passing spa only 5 mi, ZTL asked if we were on J14. We explained our clearance was spa direct to vuz. Further examination of pre departure clearance message showed a change in clearance as clt haray spa J14 atl vuz. The display and location of the routing change is obscure and difficult to detect when the original routing is still displayed on the pre departure clearance. New routings should replace originals in the message text to avoid confusion.
