Narrative:
First officer initially turned left, departure control vectored us right then inquired why we made a left turn. Captain asked to confirm which departure we were supposed to be on and got no reply. We were then vectored on course. We passed over other traffic but appeared well clear of them.

Title: FLC OF A DC10-30 CARGO ACFT TURNED THE WRONG WAY AFTER TKOF ON DEP CLB. ATC INTERVENED AND INSTRUCTED THEM TO TURN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. AFTER TURNING BACK THE OPPOSITE WAY, THEY FLEW OVER AND WELL CLR OF OTHER TFC.
