Narrative:
Due to short taxi time from departure gate to runway, normal evolution became rushed. Captain verbally warned me to keep speed slow with flaps extended. I failed to verbally brief or read SID completely so I missed the fact I had to stay within 4 NM of the airport. I took off, initiated right turn at 1300 ft, but let speed build and out of habit called for flaps to zero, which of course let us go even faster. As a result, I made a 7 mi arc vice the maximum arc of 4 NM. Approach then modified our departure to avoid further conflicts and we continued to msp. I should have taken the time to read the SID. I then would have had a better mental picture of what was expected and the captain's comments would have then made more sense. But I let myself get rushed and thus set myself up. Supplemental information from acn 356990: I need to give a better briefing for new pilots on necessary procedures to complete turn after takeoff.

Title: AN ACR MD80 FO FAILED TO COMPLETE A SID OUT OF MDW AS PUBLISHED. ERROR ADMITTED. HIS CAPT BECAME DISTRACTED BY DEP DUTIES AND ALLOWED THE FO TO MAKE THE ERROR. ANOTHER ERROR ADMITTED.
Narrative: DUE TO SHORT TAXI TIME FROM DEP GATE TO RWY, NORMAL EVOLUTION BECAME RUSHED. CAPT VERBALLY WARNED ME TO KEEP SPD SLOW WITH FLAPS EXTENDED. I THEN WOULD HAVE HAD A BETTER MENTAL PICTURE OF WHAT WAS EXPECTED AND THE CAPT'S COMMENTS WOULD HAVE THEN MADE MORE SENSE. BUT I LET MYSELF GET RUSHED AND THUS SET MYSELF UP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 356990: I NEED TO GIVE A BETTER BRIEFING FOR NEW PLTS ON NECESSARY PROCS TO COMPLETE TURN AFTER TKOF.
