Narrative:
After landing on runway 16L, the captain brought the aircraft to a stop in the center of the runway. (The braking action had been reported fair.) the tower instructed us to turn right on taxiway H5 and expedite because there was an aircraft on short final. The captain did not turn right away because neither of us could tell exactly where taxiway H5 exit was. The tower then came back and said to exit taxiway H5 or H6 and hurry because of the aircraft on final. The captain saw taxiway H6 further down and assumed we were abeam taxiway H5 so we turned right and ended off the runway in the grass. The aircraft stopped shortly thereafter. We shut down the engines and waited to be towed. Lessons: do not let ATC rush you when you are not sure of where to navigation the aircraft. Ask questions if necessary.

Title: MD90 LANDED IN REDUCED VISIBILITY. THEY STOPPED ON THE RWY. THE CTLR WAS URGING THEM TO CLR THE RWY BECAUSE OF AN ACFT ON FINAL BEHIND THEM. THE CREW COULD NOT FIND THE TXWY, THE TWR WAS GETTING IMPATIENT, SO THE CAPT ASSUMED THE TXWY'S POS AND TURNED AND TAXIED OFF THE PAVEMENT.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 16L, THE CAPT BROUGHT THE ACFT TO A STOP IN THE CTR OF THE RWY. (THE BRAKING ACTION HAD BEEN RPTED FAIR.) THE TWR INSTRUCTED US TO TURN R ON TXWY H5 AND EXPEDITE BECAUSE THERE WAS AN ACFT ON SHORT FINAL. THE CAPT DID NOT TURN RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE NEITHER OF US COULD TELL EXACTLY WHERE TXWY H5 EXIT WAS. THE TWR THEN CAME BACK AND SAID TO EXIT TXWY H5 OR H6 AND HURRY BECAUSE OF THE ACFT ON FINAL. THE CAPT SAW TXWY H6 FURTHER DOWN AND ASSUMED WE WERE ABEAM TXWY H5 SO WE TURNED R AND ENDED OFF THE RWY IN THE GRASS. THE ACFT STOPPED SHORTLY THEREAFTER. WE SHUT DOWN THE ENGS AND WAITED TO BE TOWED. LESSONS: DO NOT LET ATC RUSH YOU WHEN YOU ARE NOT SURE OF WHERE TO NAV THE ACFT. ASK QUESTIONS IF NECESSARY.
