Narrative:
On landing runway 33L (bwi) aircraft struck a deer. Damage was sustained to right main gear door and right trailing edge flap. We knew we had struck a deer and immediately informed ATC who were able to promptly close the runway so other aircraft would not be damaged by debris.

Title: A DC9 ON LNDG AT BWI STRUCK A DEER WITH THE R MAIN LNDG GEAR. DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO THE LNDG GEAR DOOR AND TRAILING EDGE FLAP.
Narrative: ON LNDG RWY 33L (BWI) ACFT STRUCK A DEER. DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO R MAIN GEAR DOOR AND R TRAILING EDGE FLAP. WE KNEW WE HAD STRUCK A DEER AND IMMEDIATELY INFORMED ATC WHO WERE ABLE TO PROMPTLY CLOSE THE RWY SO OTHER ACFT WOULD NOT BE DAMAGED BY DEBRIS.
