Narrative:
In cruise at FL260 with the autoplt engaged, we were alerted with a red RA commanding a 2500 FPM climb (no TA preceded this RA). An immediate climb and 15-20 degree right turn was initiated. No other aircraft was observed visually. I think an aircraft was climbing to level off below us (he did not overshoot his altitude). We climbed approximately 1000 ft (FL260 to FL270) before returning to our assigned altitude (FL260). ATC was advised immediately.

Title: ACR MLG ALTDEV ALT EXCURSION FROM ASSIGNED AFTER RECEIVING A TCASII RA FROM CLBING TFC.
Narrative: IN CRUISE AT FL260 WITH THE AUTOPLT ENGAGED, WE WERE ALERTED WITH A RED RA COMMANDING A 2500 FPM CLB (NO TA PRECEDED THIS RA). AN IMMEDIATE CLB AND 15-20 DEG R TURN WAS INITIATED. NO OTHER ACFT WAS OBSERVED VISUALLY. I THINK AN ACFT WAS CLBING TO LEVEL OFF BELOW US (HE DID NOT OVERSHOOT HIS ALT). WE CLBED APPROX 1000 FT (FL260 TO FL270) BEFORE RETURNING TO OUR ASSIGNED ALT (FL260). ATC WAS ADVISED IMMEDIATELY.
