Narrative:
We were cleared to taxi to runway 23R via taxiway 'U' and runway 28 and told to hold short of runway 23L. As we approached runway 23L (but not on it) I heard tower send an air carrier turboprop (on approach to runway 23L) around. Since we were well clear of runway 23L this was confusing. Apparently tower felt we had gone beyond the hold line. Since it was night and our lights were off (so as not to interfere with aircraft on approach), the hold lines are impossible and or difficult to see. Since I am not from this base a lack of familiarity with this procedure was also a factor.
