Narrative:
Even after 30 yrs -- a first! A truly humbling experience (for all 3 crew members) when you start your takeoff roll and the horn goes off indicating you forgot your flaps. Quickly extended same to 15 degrees (wasting about 500 ft of runway) and now used full power for takeoff instead of reduced. We had ran a before takeoff checklist, but either the so skipped over flaps or we (captain and first officer) responded automatically. No doubt we were all to blame. Thank god for the warning horn.

Title: FLC OF A B727 FORGOT TO SET FLAPS FOR TKOF RESULTING IN THE UNSAFE WARNING HORN SOUNDING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TKOF ROLL. THE FLAPS WERE IMMEDIATELY SET AND THE TKOF CONTINUED WITH FULL PWR.
