Narrative:
Landed on runway 3L at dtw. Once slowed we were told by tower/ground controller to turn right off runway and then right onto taxiway K. We turned right onto taxiway Y instead. Controller questioned our taxiway and then told us to continue and then gave progressive to our ramp. The captain and I were concerned with traffic landing behind us and were expediting off of the active. It turns out that taxiway K is a poorly marked taxiway that is along the outer edge of the main passenger ramp. It is highly possible that had we not been concerned with the traffic and looking more closely at the txwys the same error would have occurred.

Title: AN ACR FLC OF A LGT TURNED OFF RWY 3L ONTO TXWY 'Y' VERSUS TXWY 'K' IN AN ATTEMPT TO EXPEDITE FOR FOLLOWING TFC. THEY COMPLAIN THAT THE MARKING FOR TXWY 'K' IS INADEQUATE.
Narrative: LANDED ON RWY 3L AT DTW. ONCE SLOWED WE WERE TOLD BY TWR/GND CTLR TO TURN R OFF RWY AND THEN R ONTO TXWY K. WE TURNED R ONTO TXWY Y INSTEAD. CTLR QUESTIONED OUR TXWY AND THEN TOLD US TO CONTINUE AND THEN GAVE PROGRESSIVE TO OUR RAMP. THE CAPT AND I WERE CONCERNED WITH TFC LNDG BEHIND US AND WERE EXPEDITING OFF OF THE ACTIVE. IT TURNS OUT THAT TXWY K IS A POORLY MARKED TXWY THAT IS ALONG THE OUTER EDGE OF THE MAIN PAX RAMP. IT IS HIGHLY POSSIBLE THAT HAD WE NOT BEEN CONCERNED WITH THE TFC AND LOOKING MORE CLOSELY AT THE TXWYS THE SAME ERROR WOULD HAVE OCCURRED.
