Narrative:
On vectors by den approach control, cleared to 13000 ft, altimeter issued 30.30. After leveling, controller advised he showed us at 12000 ft, then reclred us to 8000 ft. During that descent we noticed ATIS altimeter was 29.30.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: DC10 WAS CLRED TO DSND TO 13000 FT. ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 29 PT 30 BUT FLC CLAIMS ATC HAD INFORMED THEM THE ALTIMETER WAS 30 PT 30. WHEN ACFT WAS LEVELED AT 13000 FT ON THE ALTIMETER, IT WAS ACTUALLY AT 12000 FT.
Narrative: ON VECTORS BY DEN APCH CTL, CLRED TO 13000 FT, ALTIMETER ISSUED 30.30. AFTER LEVELING, CTLR ADVISED HE SHOWED US AT 12000 FT, THEN RECLRED US TO 8000 FT. DURING THAT DSCNT WE NOTICED ATIS ALTIMETER WAS 29.30.
