Narrative:

We were approaching mke from our short flight from msn when we were told to descend to 3000 ft and fly a heading of 300 degrees. So we left 8000 ft and went down to 3000 ft. After leveling off at 3000 ft, the approach controller asked us our airspeed. I told him what I was indicating which was 220 KTS. Next, we started to slow down. After landing, the captain and I investigated a little more about the ATC inquiry. We suspect that we may have compromised timmerman's airspace speed limit. Supplemental information from acn 361753: if the timmerman's speed limit was compromised it could have been avoided by the approach facility not clearing to this area. Our spatial awareness would have been heightened as well if our company provided charts that depict the location and type of airspace at timmerman.

Title: APCH CTLR VECTORS LTT COMMUTER ACFT IN PROX OF CLASS D AIRSPACE. SPD EXCEEDED LIMITS OF CLASS D.

Narrative: WE WERE APCHING MKE FROM OUR SHORT FLT FROM MSN WHEN WE WERE TOLD TO DSND TO 3000 FT AND FLY A HDG OF 300 DEGS. SO WE LEFT 8000 FT AND WENT DOWN TO 3000 FT. AFTER LEVELING OFF AT 3000 FT, THE APCH CTLR ASKED US OUR AIRSPD. I TOLD HIM WHAT I WAS INDICATING WHICH WAS 220 KTS. NEXT, WE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. AFTER LNDG, THE CAPT AND I INVESTIGATED A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE ATC INQUIRY. WE SUSPECT THAT WE MAY HAVE COMPROMISED TIMMERMAN'S AIRSPACE SPD LIMIT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 361753: IF THE TIMMERMAN'S SPD LIMIT WAS COMPROMISED IT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY THE APCH FACILITY NOT CLRING TO THIS AREA. OUR SPATIAL AWARENESS WOULD HAVE BEEN HEIGHTENED AS WELL IF OUR COMPANY PROVIDED CHARTS THAT DEPICT THE LOCATION AND TYPE OF AIRSPACE AT TIMMERMAN.
