Narrative:

After departure from boston airport, we were in cruise flight at approximately 17000 ft MSL talking with ZBW. Center cleared us direct to sandy point VOR. The aircraft was turned to the heading for sandy point. Shortly thereafter, a westerly wind correction angle was made and later an additional angle was made, also westerly. Center called and said we were navigating direct to providence and not to sandy point as previously cleared. He (center) also instructed us to turn left 30 degrees. There were some blocked xmissions from center we thought might be directed for us and there was another commercial flight with a similar call sign as ours. These 2 factors certainly added to the difficulty center had communicating with us. I turned the aircraft as directed by center and at that time we were handed off to a new frequency.
