Narrative:
Automated ATIS voice -- listened twice -- copied altimeter setting as 30.46. I commented to my captain that altimeter setting seemed unusually high -- then listened to it again -- still thought it was 30.46. Clearance below FL180 was received from lax approach. They never gave us an altimeter setting, probably because we checked in on their frequency with ATIS information. On final about 1000 ft we realized our altimeters were not correct. Our intermittent level off's at 15000 ft, 12000 ft and 10000 ft were probably about 400 ft low. Approach never said anything about our altitude. On the ground, ATIS had changed to a human voice and the altimeter setting was 30.06.

Title: MLG FO HAS DIFFICULTY UNDERSTANDING THE COMPUTER ATIS VOICE. USES WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING. ALTDEV.
Narrative: AUTOMATED ATIS VOICE -- LISTENED TWICE -- COPIED ALTIMETER SETTING AS 30.46. I COMMENTED TO MY CAPT THAT ALTIMETER SETTING SEEMED UNUSUALLY HIGH -- THEN LISTENED TO IT AGAIN -- STILL THOUGHT IT WAS 30.46. CLRNC BELOW FL180 WAS RECEIVED FROM LAX APCH. THEY NEVER GAVE US AN ALTIMETER SETTING, PROBABLY BECAUSE WE CHKED IN ON THEIR FREQ WITH ATIS INFO. ON FINAL ABOUT 1000 FT WE REALIZED OUR ALTIMETERS WERE NOT CORRECT. OUR INTERMITTENT LEVEL OFF'S AT 15000 FT, 12000 FT AND 10000 FT WERE PROBABLY ABOUT 400 FT LOW. APCH NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT OUR ALT. ON THE GND, ATIS HAD CHANGED TO A HUMAN VOICE AND THE ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 30.06.
