Narrative:
During descent center asked that we expedite descent which we did to over 4000 FPM. We were diverted in our attention briefly. When the altitude alert went off we were zipping down fast. We immediately advised center and climbed back to FL240 after descending to about 22500 ft. He advised no traffic conflict and shortly gave us a further descent.
