Narrative:
Medical emergency. At about 70 mi south of stl, flight attendant came up and said a woman was possibly having a heart attack. We turned around and started a descent into stl. The flight attendant then came up and said the woman's husband was a medical doctor and he said she was well enough to continue on to dfw. She was alert and coherent (talking) and she had good color. A registered nurse onboard confirmed that her vital signs were normal. We continued on to dfw, declared a medical emergency, and landed as soon as possible. The paramedics met the aircraft and after examining her told me that she probably just fainted as she appeared fine. The controllers did an outstanding job of assisting us.
