Narrative:
In sum: this almost illegible report seems to say that their aircraft had suffered a bird strike on the right side of the radome. The aircraft was inspected and written off. However, the left engine was not inspected. While in cruise at 9000 ft, they received a warning indicating a duct leak in the left engine. They followed all procedures, shut down the left engine and declared an emergency. They diverted to mco without further problems.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AFTER DEPARTING SRQ, EMB120 HAD A DUCT LEAK WARNING LIGHT. ENG SHUT DOWN AND DIVERTED TO MCO. THE DUCT LEAK PROBABLY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH A PREVIOUS BIRD STRIKE.
Narrative: IN SUM: THIS ALMOST ILLEGIBLE RPT SEEMS TO SAY THAT THEIR ACFT HAD SUFFERED A BIRD STRIKE ON THE R SIDE OF THE RADOME. THE ACFT WAS INSPECTED AND WRITTEN OFF. HOWEVER, THE L ENG WAS NOT INSPECTED. WHILE IN CRUISE AT 9000 FT, THEY RECEIVED A WARNING INDICATING A DUCT LEAK IN THE L ENG. THEY FOLLOWED ALL PROCS, SHUT DOWN THE L ENG AND DECLARED AN EMER. THEY DIVERTED TO MCO WITHOUT FURTHER PROBS.
