Narrative:
When preflting the aircraft, at cae, I noticed an exceedence (on exceed page) on both engines in excess of 120% torque. After discussions with maintenance personnel, was told this was due to a computer glitch that these were recorded. I also called the captain from the previous evening and he concurred these parameters were in error. Upon arrival in pit, maintenance grounded the aircraft because 'the computer doesn't lie, so the over-torque did indeed happen.'
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MDT TURBOPROP ACFT AT PREFLT. RPTR CAPT NOTICED EXCEEDENCE ON BOTH ENGS IN EXCESS OF 120% TORQUE. MAINT PERSONNEL TOLD HIM IT WAS DUE TO A COMPUTER GLITCH, RPTR ALSO CONTACTED THE PREVIOUS CAPT WHO SAID THE SAME THING, SO RPTR CAPT TOOK THE ACFT. UPON ARR AT THE NEXT STATION, THE ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS BECAUSE 'THE COMPUTER DOESN'T LIE.'
