Narrative:

The aircraft had a previous write-up of the #1 throttle and a corresponding placard of the autothrottle system for that problem. The placard omitted the words '#1 channel of autothrottle system inoperative.' this would have meant the entire system was inoperative and MEL requires #1 or #2 channel to be working. The write-up gave me the understanding that the aircraft was ok for service with a problem only on the #1 autothrottle channel. The flight to dfw was uneventful.

Title: AN ACR F100 CAPT ADMITS THAT HE FLEW AN ACFT THAT HAD AN IMPROPER MEL PLACARD.

Narrative: THE ACFT HAD A PREVIOUS WRITE-UP OF THE #1 THROTTLE AND A CORRESPONDING PLACARD OF THE AUTOTHROTTLE SYS FOR THAT PROB. THE PLACARD OMITTED THE WORDS '#1 CHANNEL OF AUTOTHROTTLE SYS INOP.' THIS WOULD HAVE MEANT THE ENTIRE SYS WAS INOP AND MEL REQUIRES #1 OR #2 CHANNEL TO BE WORKING. THE WRITE-UP GAVE ME THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE ACFT WAS OK FOR SVC WITH A PROB ONLY ON THE #1 AUTOTHROTTLE CHANNEL. THE FLT TO DFW WAS UNEVENTFUL.
