Narrative:

We were cleared to FL240 and pushed flight level change as we were given a new frequency by center. By the time we checked in and talked about going to oxi, we noticed that we were still at FL260. We questioned the controller to verify the proper altitude, and he asked us what we were originally cleared to. We said FL240 but to please verify. He cleared us to FL240 with no problems or incursions. I realize we should be more vigilant when switching altitudes and frequencys. Sometimes the airplane doesn't always engage when asked to perform a task. Verification is paramount.

Title: FK10 HAD BEEN CLRED FROM FL260 TO FL240. ALL THE PROPER BUTTONS WERE PUSHED BUT THE AUTOPLT FAILED TO DSND THE ACFT. ATC CONFIRMED THEY WERE CLRED TO FL240 AND THEY THEN DSNDED. FLC WAS NOT MONITORING THE ACFT PERFORMANCE.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO FL240 AND PUSHED FLT LEVEL CHANGE AS WE WERE GIVEN A NEW FREQ BY CTR. BY THE TIME WE CHKED IN AND TALKED ABOUT GOING TO OXI, WE NOTICED THAT WE WERE STILL AT FL260. WE QUESTIONED THE CTLR TO VERIFY THE PROPER ALT, AND HE ASKED US WHAT WE WERE ORIGINALLY CLRED TO. WE SAID FL240 BUT TO PLEASE VERIFY. HE CLRED US TO FL240 WITH NO PROBS OR INCURSIONS. I REALIZE WE SHOULD BE MORE VIGILANT WHEN SWITCHING ALTS AND FREQS. SOMETIMES THE AIRPLANE DOESN'T ALWAYS ENGAGE WHEN ASKED TO PERFORM A TASK. VERIFICATION IS PARAMOUNT.
