Narrative:
While taxiing out with a load, the windsock was showing a slight breeze out of the southwest. This was at right angles to both runway 14 and runway 32. I chose runway 14 as it was the shortest taxi. After checking both runways, both ground and air, for traffic and seeing nothing, I taxied onto runway 14 and started my takeoff roll. When the tail came up, improving my forward visibility, I discovered a single engine cessna (C182, C206, C210?) rolling toward me. I immediately swung right to leave the runway. However, the cessna lifted off at this time and flew over me at about 40 ft. I do not know if the cessna was on takeoff roll or landing rollout when I spotted him. I never saw the cessna again. I do not know who it was where it came from or where it went. The cessna was light in color (off white, gray, earth tone perhaps) and did not contrast with the backgnd (a fuel farm with many white tanks), the sky or the runway pavement. It was not showing a light. If the aircraft would have had his landing light on this incident might have been averted.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: NMAC BTWN AN AIRTRACTOR, AT301, ON TKOF ROLL, AT A NON TWR ARPT, AND AN UNKNOWN SINGLE ENG CESSNA COMING TOWARDS RPTR DURING EITHER A LNDG ROLL OR TKOF.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING OUT WITH A LOAD, THE WINDSOCK WAS SHOWING A SLIGHT BREEZE OUT OF THE SW. THIS WAS AT R ANGLES TO BOTH RWY 14 AND RWY 32. I CHOSE RWY 14 AS IT WAS THE SHORTEST TAXI. AFTER CHKING BOTH RWYS, BOTH GND AND AIR, FOR TFC AND SEEING NOTHING, I TAXIED ONTO RWY 14 AND STARTED MY TKOF ROLL. WHEN THE TAIL CAME UP, IMPROVING MY FORWARD VISIBILITY, I DISCOVERED A SINGLE ENG CESSNA (C182, C206, C210?) ROLLING TOWARD ME. I IMMEDIATELY SWUNG R TO LEAVE THE RWY. HOWEVER, THE CESSNA LIFTED OFF AT THIS TIME AND FLEW OVER ME AT ABOUT 40 FT. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE CESSNA WAS ON TKOF ROLL OR LNDG ROLLOUT WHEN I SPOTTED HIM. I NEVER SAW THE CESSNA AGAIN. I DO NOT KNOW WHO IT WAS WHERE IT CAME FROM OR WHERE IT WENT. THE CESSNA WAS LIGHT IN COLOR (OFF WHITE, GRAY, EARTH TONE PERHAPS) AND DID NOT CONTRAST WITH THE BACKGND (A FUEL FARM WITH MANY WHITE TANKS), THE SKY OR THE RWY PAVEMENT. IT WAS NOT SHOWING A LIGHT. IF THE ACFT WOULD HAVE HAD HIS LNDG LIGHT ON THIS INCIDENT MIGHT HAVE BEEN AVERTED.
